Cinemas up and down the country will be screening cult classic film Pretty Woman starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere just for Valentine's Day this year.

Showcase cinemas will be putting the ultimate romcom back on the big screen for one day only at 7pm, so you can snuggle up with your SO on the back row and watch an unlikely duo fall in love with a fairytale ending.

The fan-favourite 1990 movie sees Julia's character, escort Vivian, and successful business man, Edward (portrayed by Richard), spend a weekend together - they quickly grow close despite being worlds apart.

The official synopsis puts it best: "A man in a legal but hurtful business needs an escort for some social events and hires a beautiful prostitute he meets... only to fall in love."

So whether you're celebrating Valentine's or Galentine's next week, you can book tickets for the flashback screening here.

"This film is loved by all, having been voted as the UK's favourite romantic comedy in a survey of film lovers," said Mark Barlow, UK general manager for Showcase Cinemas. "We wanted to celebrate all things romantic this Valentine's Day so whether you're in a couple or looking for a group trip, come and see this one-off exclusive screening."

Showcase Cinema isn't the only one putting on some of our favourite films ever created to celebrate our closest relationships this year either.

Everyman Cinemas nationwide are screening cult teen movies Legally Blonde and Mean Girls the day before on Wednesday, 13th February 2019 for Galentine's.

The description for the event reads: "Inspired by Ariana Grande's instantly iconic single 'Thank U, Next' and the films it parodied, we're showing a cult classic chick flick: Mean Girls - the story of new student Cady Heron who gets into the wrong crowd...the A-List clique The Plastics. [And] Legally Blonde -the story of LA beauty Elle Woods and her journey to law school,.Tickets also include a cocktail to enjoy alongside the film."

Ticket prices vary, but screenings will kick off at 8pm - you can visit the Everyman cinema website to find out more here.
