Love Island 2018: Piers Morgan Hits Out At Rosie Williams For Giving Up Law Career For Reality TV
Love Island dumpee Rosie Williams has faced the wrath of Piers Morgan, while appearing on Good Morning Britain to discuss her recent stint on the reality dating show...
As Rosie made one of her first post-Love Island interviews on Monday morning, 53-year-old Piers hit out at her, and this time it wasn't over her choice to couple up with Adam Collard in the villa.
Instead, the GMB host savagely questioned Rosie over why she had decided to give up her successful law career in favour of making herself 'look stupid on TV'.
Piers has openly criticised the most recent series of Love Island and its contestants, so it probably shouldn't have come as too much of a surprise for Rosie when he laid into her.
Rosie defended her decision though, telling Piers that her family were proud of her and that she had no time to find Mr Right while working as a solicitor.
Co-host Susanna Reid bit back at Piers and sided with Rosie, telling him: "It's so ironic - you have lots of qualifications and consider yourself an intelligent person, and you're making a career on television.
"Why would you deny that opportunity to Rosie?"
But Piers wasn't the only one questioning why Rosie opted for reality TV over law, as she also faced a grilling over on Lorraine.
Justifying her choice once again, the welsh beauty told Lorraine Kelly: "When you work 18 hours a day for a law firm, it's not really glamorous."
However her explanation didn't sit well with Lorraine, who retorted: "I don't think law is meant to be glamorous."
Viewers of both ITV shows took to social media to blast the hosts, unimpressed with their words.
"Not a fan of both Piers Morgan and Lorraine guilting Rosie cause she gave up her career in law to appear on #loveisland. She had her reasons and she's young enough to get a job at another firm and still have a lengthy career if that's what she chooses," pointed out one person.
And another echoed: "Piers you cantankerous old fossil. Did you even listen to Rosie's views on Love Island. It's her decision. Do you even remember what it's like to be young and have fun."
"Such a painful interview to watch with Rosie from love island. Piers Morgan was so despicable, insensitive and ill intented. I thought the purpose of interviewing someone was to listen to them not put them down. Shameful #GoodMorningBritain," hit out a third.
You do you, Rosie.
