Grab your tissues and get ready for an emotional rollercoaster as the cast of Orange Is The New Black bid farewell to the series in a new tear-jerking featurette ahead of the release of show's final season.

Looking back on seven seasons, the cast, including Taylor Schilling, Laverne Cox and Uzo Aduba, discuss how the Netflix series, which arrives on the streaming service on Friday, 26th July for the final season, changed their lives.

Laura Prepon, who plays Alex Vause, remarked in the behind-the-scenes video: "Orange has become this really great voice for people. It's so wonderful to be a part of."

While Uzo Aduba, who won an Emmay and SAG for her portrayal of Suzanne 'Crazy Eyes' Warren, added: "This show has absolutely nothing to do with women in prison. This is a story about people and their lives."

OITNB was one of Netflix's original shows and was praised for its LGBTQ-led storylines, which Taylor Schilling, who plays Piper Chapman, said were, "treated as love stories, like any other love story."

Actress Laverne Cox became the first out transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy for her turn as Sophia Burset on the show, which she remarked in the featurette as "ground-breaking".

The show star shared: "In 2013, there was something really ground-breaking about Sophia. A trans person to play a trans character is a really big deal."

And while the show's cutting-edge storylines were discussed, the near four-minute clip also saw show stars Danielle Brooks, Dascha Polanco and Natasha Lyonne shed lots of tears.

Russian Dolls actress Natasha, who plays Nicky Nichols on OITNB, commented: "We wept the other day in a way that was not cute. It was grown-up weeping."

While Taylor reflected on her experience: "I don't think I believe in goodbyes. We'll all be back together again."

For the past six seasons, Orange is the New Black, which is based on a true story, has tackled some of the most difficult topics that women deal with.

In the final season, the women of Litchfield will apparently "come to terms with the fact that prison has changed them forever."

In October last year it was revealed the women's prison drama would come to an end in an emotional video featuring the cast, who promised it would go out with a bang.

Filming officially wrapped up in February, and the cast have been taking to social media to share heartfelt goodbyes to the cast and crew they've worked with for so many years.

OITNB first launched back in 2013 and quickly became Netflix's most-streamed original series, earning 12 prime time Emmy nominations including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.
