The Chase fans were left fuming after the beloved ITV game show announced that no new episodes of the show would air over the bank holiday weekend.
But to add insult to injury, show favourite, The Governess aka Anne Hegerty has apparently told fans that it is actually for the foreseeable future.

The bank holiday break was first announced on Twitter, in a post which read: "*CHASE ANNOUNCEMENT KLAXON* We are currently taking a break from the new series of #TheChase (boo).
"But please do join us for some CLASSIC episodes of the show all next week at the usual time on #ITV (Yay!). Have a lovely #BankHoliday weekend. #TheChase #ITV."
As fans quickly demanded to know when their fave show would be back on telly, Anne took it upon herself to let them know the sad news.

In a now-deleted tweet, the Express reports that she wrote: "Indeed, and for quite some time, I'm afraid."
Her revelation got fans in a bit of a tizzy, and she was later forced to clear things up with a more exact date.
The Chaser added: "I'm afraid I think it may be till the beginning of September #dontshoutatme #notmyfault."
Fans were still pretty gutted at the thought of The Chase repeats, with one declaring: "Will be missed, but nice to have a break while filming catches up I guess!
