'Monsters Inc.' Is Reportedly Getting A Spin-Off Show With The Original Cast

Disney is reportedly set to create a new Monsters Inc. spin-off TV show, featuring the original cast from the beloved franchise.

Titled Monsters At Work, the series will be available to watch on Disney's forthcoming streaming service, Disney Plus, which is believed to be launching later this year.

As well as the original cast lending their voices once again to the iconic characters, a whole host of newcomers will be joining them to bring the monsters to life for the small screen.

John Goodman will return as Sulley, Billy Crystal comes back for Mike Wazowski, John Ratzenberger reprise his role as Yeti, Jennifer Tilly will play Celia again and Bob Peterson appears once more as Roz.

The group will be joined by new cast additions, Ben Feldman, Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, Alanna Ubach, Kelly Marie Tran, Stephen Stanton and Aisha Tyler.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the TV show picks up six months after the original movie, when they started using children's laughter instead of screams to power Monstropolis.

The publication reports that the series will follow Tylor Tuskmon (Feldman), who is described as "an eager and talented mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team who dreams of working on the Laugh Floor alongside Mike and Sulley".

Tran is Tylor's lifelong friend, Val Little, Winkler voices his boss, Fritz, Neff is Duncan the plumber, and Ubach is Cutter, the "officious rule follower ".

Meanwhile, Stanton is Smitty and Needleman, the custodial team, and Tyler is Tylor's mum, Millie.

Bobs Gannaway (of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fame) is developing and executive producing the TV spin-off with Ferrell Barron said to be on board to produce. Kat Good and Rob Gibbs are directing Monsters at Work.

It's thought that Monsters at Work will land on Disney's streaming service in 2020. It will join other classic Disney films - including Lady and the Tramp - being given the reboot treatment for the platform.
