If you were worried that this latest series of Our Girl would be Michelle Keegan's last, then this next pieces of news might calm your nerves a little bit...

While it seemed like the actress had been hinting for a fair few months that this latest series would be her last, the Sun reports that Michelle has actually signed up to the show again. Yaassss!

The soap star will reprise her role as army medic Corporal Georgie Lane in January, and filming for the BBC drama will begin in just a couple of months, according to the paper.

"Producers think that Michelle has been really good for the show, after taking over from Lacey Turner, and were keen to write her into a further series after developing her character," explained an Our Girl insider.

They added: "They have some meaty storylines lined up involving both action and romance."

And a BBC rep told Digital Spy: "Our Girl has performed consistently well over the summer and is still being watched by a big audience on BBC iPlayer.

"We are in discussions about future Our Girl series."

Georgie had sparked up a romance with Captain Charles James, played Ben Aldridge, in the latest series.

Fans were left fearing the worst after the show's dramatic ending, and Mich fuelled rumours that her time on Our Girl was up after sharing an emotional post on her 'gram.

After the final episode aired, the 31-year-old penned: "What a journey, what an experience, what an amazing bunch of people. Thank you for the memories guys.

"Thank you to everybody who has tuned in over the weeks, your support has been everything!"

The final episode of the show ended on a cliffhanger (quite literally) as Michelle's character, Georgie, and Inspector Chowdhrey were caught in crossfire.

They all threw themselves off a cliff edge, with the show coming to an abrupt end without fans finding out their fate.

Let's keep everything crossed that Michelle will be back on Our Girl screens asap.
