Love Island viewers were left raging over Amy Hart's 'reaction' to Lucie Donlan and Joe Garratt being torn apart in savage scenes last night.

There were plenty of tears as one person from each of the two couples deemed most 'incompatible' by their fellow Islanders was dumped from the villa following a vote by the public.

Caroline Flack revealed around the firepit that Anton Danyluk and Elma Pazar as well as Joe and Lucie were up for elimination - but only one of each couple would remain.

As she revealed the shock twist, viewers at home spotted flight attendant Amy's "smiling".

Caroline announced: "The public have been voting to save one Islander from each couple," and Love Island fans were quick to spot Amy.

"Amy looking so smug that either Lucie or Joe is going home," fumed one, while another tweeted: "Amy's reaction towards Joe & Lucie being split up was damn right nasty too."

The two girls haven't been on the best of terms recently, with their mini-feud kicking off when Lucie and Joe decided they were exclusive on the same episode as Amy and Curtis Pritchard declared they were "half" boyfriend and girlfriend.

Elma and Joe were booted off the show in the dramatic round, and had just 15 minutes to pack their bags and say their goodbyes to their fellow Islanders.

While Elma was simply grateful of the time she spent in the villa, Lucie and Joe were devastated by the news with the surfer breaking down in tears as they chatted on the sun loungers.

But the preview for tonight's episode saw Lucie seemingly torn over whether she should stay in the villa, telling a mystery Islander that she could only trust them "and Anton".

While viewers were gutted to see Lucie and Joe torn apart, their short-lived relationship hasn't been without its problems in the villa.

Joe was accused of being "controlling" over Lucie, with Women's Aid issuing a warning over his behaviour.

Adina Claire of Women's Aid said: "Controlling behaviour is never acceptable, and with Love Island viewers complaining to Ofcom in record numbers about Joe's possessive behaviour towards Lucie, more people are becoming aware of this and want to challenge it.

"Abusive relationships often start off with subtle signs of control, so it's important that it is recognised at an early stage. Love Island viewers are now very vocal in calling out unhealthy behaviour between couples on the show, and this is a positive development."

Love Island continues on ITV2 tonight at 9pm.
