After enjoying a glorious sunny Bank Holiday, it's officially time to start thinking about summer, right? That means BBQs in the back garden, sunbathing, and of course... Love Island.

Well, summer must well and truly be around the corner because filming for Love Island 2019 will officially kick off this week.

Caroline Flack made the announcement on Instagram on Monday with a series of snaps that got us itching with excitement.

Perhaps even more exciting, Caroline revealed she could 'potentially' be meeting the cast of this year's series before the week is out. AHHHHH.

"What's really exciting about this week is that we start filming for Love Island 2019 and by the end of the week I am going to have potentially seen the cast for this year," she said.

"That is really exciting and mad that it's come around this quick, so I'll let you know what happens. It's going to be a long, hot summer and all that."

Caroline was at the gym getting in some last minute 'island prep' on Bank Holiday Monday, before she jets off to luxury villa in Mallorca. We're not jealous at all.

If the previous series are anything to go by, the fifth season should return to our screens in June, but there has been no official confirmation.

By the time series four had come to an end, there had already been a whopping 25,000 applications for season five.

Although none of the contestants have been confirmed just yet, it has previously been teased that they will come in "all shapes and sizes," which is the news we've been waiting for.

There are now no remaining couples from Love Island 2018, with Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer calling time on their relationship in February.

Let's hope series five brings more romantic success.
