Kit purposefully hadn't read it ahead of time, and TBH we're so glad he didn't...

*Game of Thrones finale spoilers ahead*

The Game of Thornes finale was shocking for many reasons - Bran being named king and Samwell Tarly surviving eight seasons, to name just two.

But perhaps the most WTF moment came when Jon Snow plunged a dagger into his Queen and former lover Daenerys' heart as they joined in one last passionate embrace.

Viewers were left with their jaws on the floor, so you can just imagine how triggering learning about the scene must have been for the actors involved. And Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, seemed to really be feeling it.

As part of HBO's Game of Thrones: The Last Watch documentary, which aired on Sunday night, we see the moment Kit hears the scene read out for the first time in the finale table read. You can watch the moment in the video above.

Sitting around the table with the rest of the core cast members, Kit can be seen putting his head in his hands as the scene is read aloud. Sophie Turner, who is sat beside him, gives the odd glance at her co-star.

When the clincher moment is read out, as viewers see Jon's hand on the hilt of the dagger he's just stabbed Dany with, Kit throws his chair back and covers his mouth with his hand.

Looking across the table at him, Emilia Clarke, who plays Queen Daenerys Targaryen, can be seen cringing as she jokingly sinks into her chair, while you can hear audible gasps (and some giggles) from fellow cast members.

Naturally, the people of Twitter relished in Kit's passionate reaction...

Emilia told Entertainment Weekly that Kit purposefully hadn't read the script ahead of time so he could hear the finale alongside the rest of the cast. Emilia, on the other hand, had made sure she was sat directly opposite him so she could "watch him compute all of this".

"He was crying," she told the publication. "And then it was kind of great him not having read it."

During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Kit spoke about the moment he found out about Dany's fate, saying: "I was very shocked and surprised at certain events unfolding, and then I blubbed my eyes out. I cried."

We don't blame you, Kit. Still not over it.
