Holly Willoughby and TV chef Phil Vickery were left on This Morning after touching tribute to Denise Robertson and her charity work in Uganda.

The TV hosts showed a clip of Denise's charity work in Uganda as she spoke to a young boy who she was desperate to see 'smile again' after all his family died apart from his little brother.

Denise began sponsoring him and set up a charity to help other children in the area where he lived, and Phil went over to Uganda to visit the boy now as he continues the work Denise began.

When they returned back to the studio after watching the segment of Phil's trip, he and Holly were both overcome with emotion as they discussed all the incredible work Denise had achieved before she passed away in 2016.

Fighting back tears, Holly said: "We miss her very much."

The segment showed footage dating back to Denise's trip to Uganda in 2004, where she first met Fred and his younger brother Emmanuel, following the death of their family.

At the time, Denise was already supporting a young girl from a nearby village and was absolutely heartbroken when she discovered their plight and desperate to make a change.

Phil recently went to visit Fred and noted just how much Denise's legacy lived on as Fred had continued working with Denise's foundation to help get clean water for his village while helping provide health care and meals at schools.

It wasn't just Holly and Phil who were taken left in tears, but viewers were also struggling to hold back their emotions during the segment.

One viewer tweeted: "I'm in tears with Phill ... wonderful tribute to Denise and how she helped the children in Uganda #ThisMorning"

"@thismorning I've just turned on and within seconds of watching the Denise foundation has got me in tears. What a wonderful woman she was and she is still helping others. We could all take a leaf out of her book. Happy birthday #thismorning," another added.

This Morning continues on ITV on weekdays at 10.30am.
