Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will host a special This Morning spin-off in October, dedicated to their most hilarious 'unseen' moments.

Viewers will be hit with a double dose of the ITV daytime duo when the 90-minute evening episode hits ITV next month.

The evening special, named This Morning - 30 Unforgettable Years will celebrate three decades of the daytime programme airing on television, while looking back at all the celebrity gossip, real life stories and news.

Holly and Phil took over the iconic presenting roles in 2009 when the programme underwent a huge relaunch, fronting the action Monday to Thursday. Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes take hold of the reigns on Fridays.

It's expected that the programme will also take a look at clips including the original anchors, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan.

Revealing the news on Twitter, the official ITV account wrote: "Confirmed: This Morning - 30 Unforgettable Years. Tuesday 2 October at 7.30pm on ITV.

"Giggles and gaffes and jaw-dropping moments unseen for decades."

Fans of the daytime programme took to Twitter to share their excitement for the one-off special that will air on Tuesday, 2nd October.

One viewer wrote: "Wow 30 years that's flew past in but my favourite presenters of all time is (pholly ) Phil and Holly and our Rylan, just like holly, all down to earth and they have a giggle.

"Absolutely love them all three they deserve a medal, especially Rylan he's a diamond."

"Best news of the day so far," another added.

Holly will soon take a break from presenting This Morning as she travels overseas to Australia to co-present I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here alongside Declan Donnelly.

The 37-year-old is standing in for her longtime friend Ant McPartlin who is taking a break from presenting duties following his second stint in rehab for a painkiller and alcohol addiction.
