HBO Release Full-Length 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Trailer

The full trailer for Game of Thrones season 8 has finally been released by HBO to impatient fans. And quite frankly: it's perfect.

Having teased the show's final series with several brief clips, HBO and Sky Atlantic have now unveiled its biggest look yet at the final six episodes, which will begin airing on Sunday, 14th April.

The almost 2 minute long trailer opens with a monologue from Arya, features plenty of glimpses of the Daenerys' dragons, some longing looks between Dany and Jon Snow and a glimpse at the epic final battle scene.

The trailer will no doubt have eagle-eyed viewers frantically searching for clues about what to expect in the long-awaited final series.

Just last week, fans thought a new poster, featuring Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington), teased his fate due to the character posing in a similar pose to Ned Stark (played by Sean Bean), who died in season one.

Co-executive producer, Bryan Cogman, teased the final episodes, which will showcase the show's most elaborate battle yet.

He explained: "It's about all of these disparate characters coming together to face a common enemy, dealing with their own past, and defining the person they want to be in the face of certain death."

The show's actors, including Maisie Williams (who plays Arya Stark) and Iain Glen (who plaus Ser Jorah Mormont), revealed that the the "gruelling" shoot for the show left them "broken" and "miserable".

Could this sequence be the moment when Williams's character sees a dragon for the first time? Time will tell.

Another theory that's doing the rounds predicts that Cersei (played by Lena Headey) could be the unlikely saviour of Westeros in a fight that could see Bran Stark (played by Isaac Hempstead Wright) revealed as the show's true villain.

HBO has a huge year ahead, with the end of Game of Thrones ushering in a new era for the cable network.

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones reaches HBO and Sky Atlantic on Sunday, 14th April.
