With Halloween a mere two weeks away, Netflix is officially ramping up the spookiness with a creepy new series from the producers behind The Purge called Haunted.

According to the online streaming giant, 'Haunted gives a chilling glimpse into the first-person accounts from people who have witnessed horrifying, peculiar, extraordinary supernatural events and other unexplained phenomenons that continue to haunt them'.

The spooky series is due to hit Netflix on Friday, 19th October, giving just enough time to binge on the chilling paranormal stories in the run up to Halloween and the trailer is enough to send shivers down our spines...

Haunted is just part of a whole spooky line-up added to the Netflix library in preparation for Halloween, kicking off with Creeped Out, a kid-orientated anthology show of freaky stories, which dropped on 4th October.

The synopsis reads: "A modern-day Are You Afraid of the Dark meets Black Mirror kids anthology series that depicts creepy tales and ends with a lesson. The series is linked together by a masked 'story collector' called The Curious who appears in each episode."

Just one day after, Malevolent hit the streaming service, a film which follows the lives of brother and sister Angela and Jackson who 'prey on the grief stricken and vulnerable' by convincing them that Angela has the ability to contact the dead.

Last week, Apostle, The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell and The Haunting of Hill House, based on Shirley Jackson's iconic novel, were also added to the Halloween watchlist, so there's plenty to keep the thrill-seekers busy.

Finally, Castlevania season two and the long-awaited Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will hit Netflix on 26th October - what an incredible month of viewing.
