Fans of the Great British Bake Off were convinced they spotted a huge 'editing mistake' in the middle of dessert week.

During a scene in which fan favourite Rahul took his showstopper bake up to the 'gingham alter', the camera appeared to cut to the part of the show where all contestants were sat in chairs clapping for the Star Baker.

Picking up on this, fans rushed to Twitter to point it out.

"Is it me or did they just put an end scene in the middle of by accident?!" questioned one Twitter user.

Responding to the tweet, one person agreed: "Rewound it 3 times - definitely cut to the star baker reveal!"

"I thought the same!" exclaimed somebody else.

While a third added: "I saw this too!!"

"Weird edit. Where was that shot meant to be in the show?" questioned a fourth.

Soon, the social media platform was flooded with tweets from viewers convinced they'd spotted the same 'editing error'.
