'Get Out' Creator's Latest Movie 'Us' Looks Super Chilling

Jordan Peele, creator of critically acclaimed social thriller Get Out, is set to release a new film, and the trailer looks super creepy.

Horror comedy Us, dubbed a satire of the American dream, is already receiving rave reviews from critics, debuting on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 100 per cent from 43 reviews.

Starring Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke as the parents of a family of four confronted by chilling doppelgängers, Us looks set to be a monumental success, just like Get Out. The latter flick sat with 100 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes for a number of weeks after its release, and is now rated a still impressive 98 per cent.

As per the official Us synopsis: "Accompanied by her husband, son and daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen to her family.

"Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, each stranger takes the appearance of a different family member."

Director Jordan says viewers will take home a number of messages from the film, as well as being shook to their core.

"You need to see the movie because there are a lot of messages to take away," Peele told Variety. "What I have talked about so far is that we as a culture, we are afraid of invaders. We are afraid of the outsider.

"Our fear lies in this idea that there's a bad guy is coming to get us. This movie is about the fact that we are our own worst enemy."

Just like Get Out, which was a social exploration of the way black and white people interact in America, Us will be as much of a horror as a political statement. Also joining the starry line-up are Elisabeth Moss, Madison Curry, Evan Alex, Shahadi Wright Joseph plus more.

The movie is expected to hit UK cinemas on 22nd March, after its original release date of 15th March was delayed.
