Trailer For Emma Thompson And Emilia Clarke's 'Last Christmas' Has Got Us Feeling Festive AF
For many people across the country, Emma Thompson is a familiar face in the living room at Christmas time.
Starring as Alan Rickman's heartbroken wife in Richard Curtis' classic Love Actually, the much-loved actress joins most of the nation over the festive period every year without fail.
Now, she's solidifying herself even further as a Christmas staple as the trailer for her new festive film, Last Christmas, promises another cracker is on the way.
Starring alongside Game Of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke - who plays Kate, the relatable female lead who works as an elf in her local department store - Emma takes on the role of Emilia's ageing mother.
Meanwhile Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding will emerge as Emilia's love interest Tom, and Fleabag's Sian Clifford plays her sister.
Not only does Emma Thompson star in the film, but she also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Bryony Kimmings.
And the trailer is everything a magical, feel-good romcom should be, filmed in various festive spots across London, including Covent Garden's markets and Alexandra Palace ice rink.
The movie shows Tom try and bring back a disenfranchised Kate's Christmas cheer, and draw out her true personality in the process.
Aspiring singer Kate's love of George Michael is a running theme throughout, and his music provides a heartwarming familiar soundtrack.
Meanwhile, it poignantly addresses homelessness - a cause famously close to the musician's heart.
But that's not all for fans of the singer, as they will even get to hear an unreleased six minute song from the late Wham! Star at the end - from the album he was working on before he passed.
The movie, which has only just wrapped filming, was directed by Paul Feig - most famous for directing Bridesmaids and The Heat.
Speaking to BBC News about George's link to the romcom, he said: "It's not a musical, but George's music affects the story.
"So it's a nice mix of being neither a jukebox movie nor straight up musical."
Last Christmas will be released on 15 November.
