A rescue dog has found Hollywood fame after being snapped up for a starring role in Disney's reboot of Lady and the Tramp.
Monte, a two-year-old terrier who is set to play the lovable Tramp in the upcoming live action remake, was rescued from a kill-shelter in New Mexico by Halo Animal Rescue.
The lucky pooch was then transferred to a shelter in Phoenix where one of the film's trainers, Mark Forbes, adopted him.
According to AZCentral, the animal shelter's CEO Heather Allen had 'no idea' of Monte's starring role when filmmakers enlisted him for a top-secret project in April 2018.

Allen said: "He was adopted from us in April of 2018, and we knew that the people that were meeting with him were considering him to be a Hollywood star, but we didn't know for what, because it was top secret.We knew he had the potential to become a Hollywood dog."
"When he arrived at the shelter he was super friendly, he greets people right away, he gives kisses, he loves attention, he knows 'sit' and he knows how to walk well on a leash," she says.
People magazine unveiled the first look at the soon-to-be-famous pooches last week and tbh we couldn't have cast it better ourselves.

The real life doggos resemble the animated characters from the 1955 classic perfectly, and what's better, all they're all rescue! 10 points to Disney.
Lady will be played by Rose, a brown and beige cocker spaniel with adorable floppy ears just like her animated counterpart, and voiced by Creed star Tessa Thompson.
Tramp is voiced by Jennifer Aniston's ex-husband, animal rights advocate and Mulholland Drive star Justin Theroux.
We also see real life versions of Trusty, the drooly bloodhound who's lost his sense of smell, voiced by Sam Elliot of A Star Is Born; and Jock, the friendly Scottish terrier, voiced by The Lobster's Ashley Jensen.

Then there's Peg the Tibetan Spaniel, responsible for singing 'He's A Tramp' in the original, who will be voiced by recording artist Janelle Monae; and finally Bull the loveable bulldog, voiced by Avengers' Benedict Wong.
Thomas Mann, Kiersey Clemons, Ashley Jensen, and Yvette Nicole Brown have also been cast to play canine characters, but we don't have photos of their respective pooches yet.
The upcoming film is being directed by Charlie Bean, produced by Bringham Taylor and was written by Andrew Bujalski.
The live-action version of Lady and the Tramp will be available in the US at launch of Disney+, the forthcoming streaming platform set to rival the likes of Netflix, Hayu and more, on 12th November 2019.
