Coronation Street Sparks Ofcom Complaints For Pre-Watershed Heroin Scene

Recently, some Coronation Street viewers have expressed concerns with the dark twists that some of the storylines have taken.

Last month, the soap received more than 600 complaints over the scene which saw evil Pat Phelan murder Luke Britton in a gruesome pre-watershed episode.

Now, the soap has been slammed again by worried viewers who were unhappy with Billy Mayhew's descent into heroin addiction, which aired before 9pm.

The episode, which was broadcast on Monday, saw Billy turn to heroin when his brother Lee failed to produce the methadone that he had been using following his addiction to painkillers.

Although we didn't see the brothers actually take the heroin, we watched them slump against the pews in the church, shortly afterwards. Take a look here...

Ofcom has now confirmed that a total of 84 complaints have been made to the broadcasting watchdog, regarding the episode which aired between 8.30pm and 9pm.

Lots of viewers also took to Twitter to share their mixed views on the uncomfortable plotline.

This is not going to end well!
