Fans of A Christmas Prince, rejoice: Netflix has announced that not only is there a third movie in the festive romcom franchise on the way, but that it will focus around a royal baby.

In a teaser tweet, Netflix shared a picture of an ultrasound scan (with the baby wearing a crown, of course), and wrote: "Baby Makes 3... A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby."

The film, which is set to be released this holiday season, focuses on an American blogger and undercover reporter, Amber (played by Rose McIver) who falls in love with a royal, Prince Richard, played by Ben Lamb, from the fictional country of Aldovia.

While the first two instalments of the franchise have focused on the couple's romance and then royal wedding, the third film is set to centre around the arrival of a little prince or princess.

Arriving to our screens just a few months after the birth of the real-life royal baby of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the film is perfectly timed to capitalise on royal baby madness.

The films have often been compared to the life of the Duchess of Sussex, with the timings of their releases coinciding with the real-life events of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's romance and wedding. Additionally, before the royal couple's wedding, Markle ran a lifestyle blog, similar to A Christmas Prince's Amber.

The official Netflix description reads: "It's Christmastime in Aldovia - and a royal baby is on the way!

"Amber and Richard host royals from a faraway kingdom to renew an ancient truce, but when the priceless 600-year-old-treaty disappears, peace is put in jeopardy and an ancient curse threatens their family!"
