Balaclava Man Returns In New 'Line Of Duty' Trailer

And it looks like Steve Arnott and Kate Fleming are a little suspicious of Superintendent Ted Hastings...

The BBC just dropped a new trailer for Line Of Duty season five, and the preview sees the mysterious Balaclava Man make his return.

AC-12 will return in the spring to crack police corruption but it looks like Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) might be suspecting one of their own officers.

The final episode of season four hinted that Superintendent Ted Hastings could be the corrupt top cop, and the minute-long preview teases this idea further.

Could Hastings actually be "H" after all? Let's hope not but if the trailer is anything to go by, it seems quite likely.

Meanwhile, Stephen Graham is introduced to viewers as Balaclava Man, who whips off his mask. He terrorised the fictional force throughout season four and it looks like the mysterious character will be doing exactly the same in series five.

Director Jed Mercurio's (of Bodyguard fame) show is said to be returning this spring, although there is not an exact air date just yet.

Martin shared the preview to his Instagram followers on Sunday evening, adding in the caption: "It's gonna be lively!! Line of Duty 5 #AC12 #comingsoon."

The Beeb previously shared a first look at the upcoming series on Boxing Day, which again hinted the Hastings might not be so squeaky clean after all.

Drumming up the excitement, the broadcaster announced: "SOUND THE ALARM! IT'S THE WHOLE GANG BACK TOGETHER FOR THE NEW SERIES OF LINE OF DUTY.

"Coming in 2019 to BBC One. @martin_compston @Vicky_McClure #LOD5."

In the trailer, the trio discussed a corrupt senior police officer's involvement in the planning of a robbery and Hastings declared that Arnott and Fleming were his "best team" and he would "back them to the hilt".

However, when they left his office he looked shifty as hell. Please not Ted!
