Anton Danyluk has quickly gone from being one of the least favourite Islanders to being the king of the Love Island villa.

One of the 24-year-old's most infamous lines is that his mum shaves his bum for him - and now his mother has said it's the "least [she] can do for him".

In an interview with the Daily Record, Sherie Ann Danyluk said shaving her son's bum was "no big deal" and something she does "every couple of weeks", arguing that as she used to change his nappies, shaving his bum is no big deal.

"What's the difference in that and taking a bit of hair away from his backside? We are really close and it's the least I can do for him," Sherie Ann added.

Anton got off to a rough start in the villa with his talk of cheating on past girlfriends and his boasts of having a wandering eye, but his self-deprecating humour and care for the other contestants soon saw the whole country rooting for him, which Anton's mum said she was delighted about.

"Anton has gone from public enemy No1 to the sweetheart of the villa and his dad and I are so proud of him. I'm so glad people have got to see my boy in a true light," she said. "His compassionate behaviour towards the others has shown what a caring guy he is. He is beautiful inside and out."

Sherie Ann, who lives with her husband Michael and Anton on their 30-acre ranch in Scotland, also admitted that it's been hard to watch her son get rejected over and over again, saying she felt "emotionally drained" and that she would "hide in the other room" until her husband called her to tell her everything was fine.

Anton is currently enjoying the company of new girl Belle Hassan, so it looks like his luck with the ladies may have finally turned around.
