A two-day immersive Peaky Blinders festival is coming to the UK, which will let fans travel back to the 20th century.

Fans of the show are invited to travel back to working-class Birmingham in 1919, into the world of their favourite gangsters.

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) or Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy) will be making an appearance but you'll feel pretty close to them both.

To make visitors feel like they have stepped onto the set of the BBC drama, over 100 actors and musicians in flapper dresses and iconic caps will be lining the streets of Birmingham.

Fans will be able to immerse themselves in a vintage fairground, live street magic, local Brummie ales, Irish folk musicians, live boxing and historical talks.

"You are invited to step into the murky working-class Birmingham world of the infamous gang, with underground bootleg bars and over 100 actors and musicians in flapper dresses and iconic caps," reads the event listing.

"You too will feel like an actor in the backstreets of an iconic Birmingham district."

The immersive Peaky Blinders festival takes place this weekend (Saturday, 25/26th September) and tickets are £32.70 each.

The event should help curb fans' cravings, who are patiently waiting for series five of the show to appear on their TV screens.

Filming for series five is reported to have started this week, after a Cillian Murphy fan account on social media posted a major hint.

The account, which has 255,000 followers, posted a picture of the actor in full Tommy Shelby costume, along with the caption: "PEAKY NEWS! S5 filming starts tomorrow, Sept 17. The series is expected to air in Spring 2019 on BBC1."

Season five will see the show move into the 1930s, but it looks like the end of the show is in sight.

Creator Steven Knight has said in previous interviews that he intended to wrap up Peaky Blinders before the beginning of the Second World War.

He said: "My ambition is to make it a story of a family between two wars, so always I've wanted to end it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in 1939. It'll take three more series [to reach that point]."
