We cannot believe it's been a whole two decades since we lost our innocence by watching *that* apple pie scene, but teen comedy American Pie is officially 20 years old, and the cast have reunited to celebrate.

The movie was released in cinemas on 9th July 1999, and to celebrate the anniversary, the stars met up for a chat about their time on the show and filming those risqué scenes.

The sexy coming-of-age film, based on the students of East Great Falls high school who make a pact to lose their virginity before graduation, was a box office hit grossing $235.5 million. Subsequently, a massive seven sequels were released: American Pie 2, American Wedding and American Reunion, along with spin-off movies American Pie: Band Camp, American Pie: The Naked Mile, American Pie: Beta House and American Pie: The Book of Love.

Jason Biggs (who played virgin Jim Levenstein), Alyson Hannigan ("one time at band camp..." Michelle Flaherty), Eddie Kaye Thomas (Paul Finch), Chris Klein (Chris 'Oz' Ostreicher), Natasha Lyonne (Jessica), Tara Reid (Vicky Lathum) and Sean William Scott (Stifler) reunited for an onstage interview with Entertainment Tonight, the first time the gang had all been together since 2012's American Reunion.

Jason Biggs spoke about filming the movie's most iconic scene, in which his character Jim gets, erm, well-acquainted with a freshly-baked apple pie, after being told third base "feels like arm apple pie".

Talking about reading the scene in the script before he'd been given the part, Jason says: "I just thought, 'Oh my god, that's amazing. I've never read anything like that. I've never seen anything like that.' And I remember saying to myself, 'God, I really hope I get this part. I really want to do that.' Like, 'That seems like something I would love to go for. I'm going to be a fearless comedian.'"

Jason continued: "And I got the part and the day of filming this scene, I had a complete freak-out and I called my manager in my trailer and I was like, 'Am I really going to do this?' And he was like, 'You f**k the sh*t out of that pie.'

"I had one moment of freak-out, like, What if no one sees this? What if absolutely no one sees this and I f**k a pie for no other reason than I got paid very little money to f**k a pie? I kind of freaked out, but then he gave me a vote of confidence and I went in there and I did it. And I did it hard and I did it good and I did it long."

So many LOLs - now, anyone for an American Pie marathon?
