After A Cringe-Worthy Start, Chris Taylor Is The Unlikely Hero Of 'Love Island'

After A Cringe-Worthy Start, Chris Taylor Is The Unlikely Hero Of 'Love Island'

We've come to love Chris's goofy sense of humour, clumsiness and relatability - "You get to watch this, this is my life, I have to live it!"

You've heard the age old saying 'never judge a book by their first week in the villa' - and Chris Taylor is living proof of this.

The 28-year-old business development manager is quickly becoming one of our favourite Islanders, but we have to admit it's taken a while to warm to him since he entered the villa as a late arrival.

Like any newcomer, we weren't willing to accept Chris right away, and inspected his every move with beady-eyed attention to detail. When the he first arrived every one thought, well - he was just a bit of a melt, with his his cringe one-liners ("I need someone to butter my crumpet"), pathetic attempts to woo Amber and self-pitying ways.

But, like any slow-grown long-lasting relationship, Chris has started to grow on us.

We've steadily come to love his weirdness, from 'salmoning' into the pool, doing that weird chicken dance while on his date with Maura (if someone can explain this, hit us up), clumsiness (like when he spilt champagne on Belle during his picnic date) and straight-up goofiness.

He's also one of the most relatable for his unlucky in love ways.

Chris was all of us when he flopped down on the kitchen counter after seeing super hunk Ovie cracking on with his crush, new girl India, shortly after telling Jordan: "Why is this my life? It's not funny. It's a f*cking anecdote to you, you get to watch this, this is my life, I have to live it."

Afterwards, Chris attempted to save his chances with India by sitting her down for a chat but instead of asking 'where her head's at' or complimenting the way she's settled in like many of the other lads would do, Chris decided to initiate a game of 'Would You Rather?' before rolling back off his beanbag in excitement.

Chris, you are a breath of fresh air!

P.S. We're taking "Would you rather brush your teeth with a squirrel or lick a goat's face every day for the rest of your life?" to our next dinner party. Cheers for that, Chris!
