A Quiet Place Receives Raving Reviews From Critics

There's a new horror film on the block called, A Quiet Place and it's basically about living life in silence in a world populated with monsters who will kill you if they hear you.

The monsters seem to leave you alone if they can't hear you, however as soon they hear a squeak they are coming for you. Sounds like the stuff of nightmares...

Directed by John Krasinski, also known as Jim from the US Office, the film stars John and his real-life wife Emily Blunt in the two leading roles.

They play the parents of three children who all live in this scary world without making a single sound. Things get even more complicated when the couple find out that they are expecting another baby.

How will they survive with a noisy new born in a world where they are hunted by mysterious creatures for any little sound?

The film has just opened at SXSW festival and the reviews are incredible. The new horror also boasts an impressive 100% rating on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Meredith Borders for Slash Film wrote that the film is 'majorly effective' at delivering those monster scares.

She said on Twitter: "Holy sh*t, A QUIET PLACE is for real. John Krasinski made a horror movie that's wholly original and, btw, really, REALLY scary. #sxsw"

Film critic Kristy Puchko tweeted: " #AQuietPlace is a masterclass in suspense. It weaponizes your own screams against you. The tension is so taut your stomach will turn in relentless knots. Totally deliciously terrifying. #SXSW18"

Vanity Fair in its review wrote: "The success of the film hinges almost entirely on the way in which real-life couple and parents Blunt and Krasinski poured their fears about raising children into their performances here.

"As is the case with most successful, spare horror films of late, A Quiet Place has much more to say about its humans than its monsters and is especially invested in the ways families fail to communicate even their most basic needs to each other."

The film is set to release in the UK on 4th May.
