I'm pretty sure that everyone at some point has tried to recreate the iconic Dirty Dancing lift. Successful or not, I'm also sure that they haven't ended up in A&E which is exactly what happened to one couple when they attempted the ever-so tricky move.

Sharon Price and her fiance Andy Price tried to create the last scene of the film while in a pub garden in Weston-super-Mare, practicing the huge lift in time for their wedding next year.

Whether they'd had one bev too many or not, let's just say it didn't go so well.

The couple knocked themselves out as Andy, 51, tried to lift Sharon over his head, and 999 was called. They were whisked off to hospital to suffering from both neck and back injuries. OUCH!

The couple have apparently watched the film which features Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey over 30 times, making the move their perfect first dance.

Bride-to-be Sharon,52, said: "It's fair to say it didn't go to plan. When I ran at Andy he tried to lift me, but we just collided.

"At first, our family thought we were just messing about but they soon realised we had actually really hurt ourselves.

She added: "The paramedics were pretty worried about Andy and cut his t-shirt off and blue-lighted him up to Southmead Hospital."

"All I could hear was the paramedics saying he was going in and out of consciousness. Our feet were sill entwined and they had to separate us.

"We were both badly bruised but we're alright now."

Sharon added that two had learnt their lesson, and added: "I think we're going to go for a slow one for our first dance."

That sounds like a good idea!

The couple have now appeared on our favourite show, This Morning with Holly and Phil, to talk about their mishap. They even managed to recreate the lift on the show, this time without seriously hurting themselves, thanks to the help of some extra show crew.

The accident has gone viral on social media, and Dirty Dancing has been trending all over Twitter.

They really weren't having the time of their lives.
