A Man Ordered 200 Hash Browns At McDonalds Because He Couldn't Have Nuggets
You know how it is, you go into McDonald's in the early hours because you fancy a Big Mac and fries, or some chicken nuggets, only to get told it's now the 'morning' and they're serving the breakfast menu. Absolute nightmare.
Maybe it's because you've pulled an all-nighter and you need something to soak up the vodka and regret or maybe it's because you keep weird hours.
Whatever the reason, it's not the point. When they turn around and tell you the regular menu doesn't start again until 11am, it cuts deep, and I don't think I've ever felt such pain.
So, I guess from a certain point of view, the widely reported actions of a 30-year-old Australian man over the weekend were completely justified.
After tipping up at 4.50am on Saturday at Maccies in Thornleigh, Sydney, the as-yet-unnamed man became enraged when he was informed that he wouldn't be able to order chicken nuggets.
It's alleged that he was so p*ssed off with being told chicken was off the menu that he then did four laps of the drive-through. On his second lap, he decided to get his own back by ordering 200 - that's $230AUS worth of - hash browns. Well, that's a hella lot of hash browns.
But that's not the end of the tale. Presumably, rather than cook up his order, the fast food staff decided to grass him in, as whilst he was waiting for his hash browns the police showed up. The long arm of the law then breathalysed him and, shock, horror, it turns out the man was over the limit.
He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.175, meaning his licence was suspended and he will now face Hornsby Court on the 30th of November. Well, that's definitely what he ordered.

If you're wondering why nugs aren't available alongside McMuffins, there's actually an explanation on the McDonald's website.
It says: "We only have the capacity to cook one set of products at a time. Breakfast and main menu items cook at different temperatures and we need the same set of equipment to cook sausage and eggs and beef patties.
"We also would not cook beef and pork on the same grill at the same time. There is limited space in the kitchen and we have the maximum amount of grills at the moment in all our restaurants."
Apparently chicken nugget related disturbances in law and order are more common than you might think.
Earlier this year an American woman was arrested after pulling a gun on a fast-food worker for not giving her enough chicken nuggets. It's one of those cases where you can't condone their actions, but you understand the sentiment.
