Watching Carrie Fisher's Dog, Gary, Protecting Her On Stage Is Melting Our Hearts

Jack Rear in  entertainment

If you're any kind of Star Wars fan then you'll definitely remember the Ewoks. The cute, cuddly, space teddy bears first appeared in Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi were so adorable and well-loved that they spawned not one but two oft-forgotten spin-offs involving their adventures.

And who could forget the iconic scene in which the very first Ewok, Wicket, was introduced? After an explosive chase across the forest moon of Endor on speeder bikes, Princess Leia (played, of course, by the iconic Carrie Fisher) was knocked unconscious and lost track of her friends. She was eventually discovered by Wicket the Ewok and eventually gained his trust by offering him some food.

Anyway, in the lead-up to the release of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Force Awakens which was released in December 2015, Carrie was reunited with Warwick Davis, the actor who played Wicket the Ewok (and later went on to play Professor Flitwick and Griphook the Goblin in the Harry Potter series.)

As part of the panel, they recreated their very first scene together.

Unfortunately, this time they were accompanied by Carrie Fisher's dog, Gary Fisher, and he wasn't at all happy about Warwick pointing a spear at his mummy. Gary was quick to rush to Carrie's defence and actually chased Warwick off the stage! It's too freaking adorable!

So bloody cute and the clip definitely shows just how much of a zany, hilarious personality Carrie was! She'll be dearly missed.

Carrie's next and final appearance in the Star Wars saga will be a posthumous role in Star Wars Episode IX which she had finished filming shortly before her death on December 27th 2016.

The film will hit cinema screens on 15 December 2017.
