Kady McDermott has been left fuming after angry parents set up a petition against the reality beauty.

The 2016 Love Island star was booked to turn on the Christmas lights at Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, which is where very close to where Kady originally hails from.

But parents weren't exactly impressed by the council's choice of star, and set up a petition to stop Kady's appearance in its tracks. The reality beauty was obviously pretty upset at the move, and took to social media to share an emotional clip on Snapchat with her followers...

She didn't stop there though, as Kady was visibly upset by the "absolutely disgusting" comments left by "bullies" and "trolls" and continued on her rant...

Poor Kady!

Over 550 parents have signed the petition, meaning that Kady has now been dropped from the festivities following the angry response from residents.

Parents slammed the council for choosing a reality star who they claim was a "bad influence" to their children.

The online petition was set up by 'Parents WGC', and read: "What kind of example are we setting our children by having the girl from Love Island (shown drunk in this photo), switch on our Christmas lights?

"This is a family event and it would be much better to have a local hero instead."

The post continued: "Give the money (that would otherwise fund her appearance fee), to a local charity.

"Set a better example to our kids. If you don't, we won't show up to the event."

Fans and celebs rushed to support Kady on social media, and TOWIE star Vas J Morgan also angrily tweeted: "To the 550 parents of Welwyn Garden City that petitioned against @kadymcdermottx you truly need to get a life.

"If she's that bad an example you honestly shouldn't even know who she is. Neither should your children."

Another fan of the star exclaimed: "Their obnoxious opinions don't define who you are. Don't digest any of their name calling. Their opinions are irrelevant. Hold your head up high and continue to be "YOU"."

A second urged: "Ignore the haters girl. Bullies will be horrible to the nicest of people. U have done nothing wrong. Chin up [sic]."

Kady quickly thanked her adoring fans for their continued support following the "disgusting" petition, penning another tweet for her loyal and supportive followers.

The Love Islander responded: "Wow hundreds maybe even thousands of lovely messages from you guys, got me all emotional again they mean the world to me."
