Twitter Users Mock £850 Idris Elba Doll As It Looks Nothing Like The Actor

"How many people had to approve this? Did none of them know what Idris Elba looks like?"

An Idris Elba doll, which costs £850, is being mocked by Twitter users who think it looks absolutely nothing like the Luther actor.

The doll is dressed a sharp suit jacket and waistcoat matched with denim jeans and tan leather trainers.

Idris has whipped off his jacket and has a smouldering look on his face.

But many of his fans think that the doll, which comes courtesy of specialist makers Emperis, bears no resemblance to the Hollywood star at all.

Instead, hordes of Twitter users believe that the doll based on People Magazine's 2018 sexiest man actually looks more like American actor Romany Malco or TV personality Montel Williams.

"This doll is supposed to be Idris Elba?!? Looks more like my long term enemy," joked one person.

And somebody else mocked: "You mean 2 tell me that this doll is supposed 2 be Idris Elba? Either I need glasses or somebody done f*cked up."

"Maybe I'm tripping but Idris Elba doll looks just like Romany. I could be wrong but I feel so right about this," chimed in a third.

While a fourth exclaimed: "How many people had to approve this? Did none of them know what #IdrisElba looks like?"

And the tweets continued to pour in on social media tearing the Idris doll to shreds:

While Idris has not yet responded to the doll, Montel has.

Tweeting a picture of the doll and seemingly agreeing with the comparison, he wrote: "Ok, so I guess I have a doll now."

Romany did the same, sharing: "After @idriselba wouldn't claim it, @questlove and @blackthought tried to pin this action figure on me! Thanks but I'm good."

He later accepted fans' comparisons, adding: "I cannot compete with the internet today! Ya'll win!"

The doll went on sale earlier this month on 5th November, although it isn't available to purchase online.
