Twitter Thinks The Queen 'Shaded' Donald Trump With Her Tiara

People think Her Majesty's head wear says a lot...

Twitter users are convinced the Queen subtly shaded US president Donald Trump during his current visit to the UK with her tiara.

Her Maj hosted a Buckingham Palace banquet for Trump and first lady Melania on Monday evening, with everyone dressing up for the formal occasion.

Trump donned a smart black tuxedo while Queen Elizabeth II wore a cream embellished gown with a blue sash and a tiara encrusted with precious rubies, and the lattest has got Twitter talking.

While she may have clinked glasses with Trump and been all smiles, some believe that she was throwing a subtle dig at the president with her head-wear as she wasn't able to do so outright as royals refrain from commenting on politics.

The Queen chose the Burmese Ruby Tiara for the evening, of which the stones, as the Royal Exhibitions website states, are believed to protect whoever is wearing from "evil" and "illness".

The 96 rubies in the crown "represent the number of diseases that the Burmese people believe can afflict the human body", says the website.

It adds: "They credit the ruby with prophylactic properties guarding the wearer not only against illness, but also against evil."

Twitter users picked up on that, rushing to the platform to share their thoughts on whether Her Majesty had made a conscious decision to wear that particular tiara or whether it was entirely coincidental.

"The Queen of England wore a crown with jewels known to ward off evil, gave a rare book to a President who has said he doesn't read, and said they couldn't stay at Buckingham Palace because EVERY bedroom was under renovation. She's my new spirit animal," shared one person.

While another declared: "That's the Burmese Ruby Tiara. It was designed by Her Majesty herself in 1973 using gems from her collection. It consists of 96 rubies that were gifted to HM The Queen by the people of (then) Burma as a symbolic protection against illness and evil. Make of it what you will," offered another.

Back when the country voted to leave the EU, the Queen also caused a stir with a hat which looked like the European Union flag with yellow stars when making a public appearance.

And when Trump first paid a visit to the UK as the US president last year, the Queen also chose three telling broaches.

One was gifted by Barack Obama, another was the one her mum wore for her father's state funeral and the latter was given as a gift from Canada, a country which Trump has often criticised by way of leadership.
