It seems as though us gals aren't the only ones who are being judged based on our looks, as the annual 100 Most Handsome Faces list has emerged, and you might be surprised with a few faces.

The list, which was first introduced in 2013, ranks males from 100 to one, based entirely on their looks, however, the listing is not based on celebrity status or fame.

A corresponding list of female stars, which has been running since 1990, was also published alongside it.

First place this year went to a name that most Westerners may not be familiar with - South Korean K-pop singer V (real name Kim Tae-Hyung), for one.

He was closely followed by Game Of Thrones star Jason Momoa, however, and other notable names in the top ten included Idris Elba, Armie Hammer and, surprisingly, Felix Kjellberg, better known as controversial YouTube star, PewDiePie.

The Swedish YouTuber was dropped by a number of high-profile sponsors, including Disney and Google, after a series of seemingly racist comments.

Unbelievably, the heartthrob that is Leonardo Dicaprio, came in at 87th, but don't worry Leonardo, you're still number one in my eyes.

The list, which promotes cultural diversity, reinforces the belief that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as it is obviously entirely subjective.

Compilers of the list pride themselves on the diversity of its content, however, with the website's About page calling it 'representative of the modern ideal of worldwide beauty'.

"The Independent Critics have created a celebratory list that cherishes the feminine aesthetic and opens the world's eyes to a unique, diverse and international collection of beautiful faces," it goes on to say.

Meanwhile, top spot on the female version of the list went to Filipino-American actress Liza Soberano, with French model Thylane Blondeau and Taiwanese singer Chou Tzu-yu claiming second and third spot. All three are still in their teens.
