It seems the Strictly curse is still alive and well after Dianne Buswell splits with Emmerdale star Anthony Quinlan amid claims she's 'grown close' to dance partner Joe Sugg.

The pair, who've been dating for 10 months reportedly struggled to cope with the long-distance, with sources claiming Anthony had become uncomfortable with how close Dianne and Joe were getting.

"Everyone on set's been discussing how close they'd become. It did not go unnoticed by Anthony," the insider revealed to The Sun.

On Thursday night, Dianne's reps confirmed their split in a statement that read: "Due to their busy schedules and distance they have split, but still remain close friends."

The insider added that Dianne and Anthony had been clashing more than often, and decided 'enough was enough.'

"There's not bad blood between them but it looks like a reconciliation is off the cards this time. Last time they split she was really upset but this time around she doesn't seem that bothered," they continued.

"He's up north and she's down south and things just weren't working anymore so they've knocked it on the head despite being quite serious.

"She's having a lot of fun with the show at the moment and is enjoying spending time with her dance partner Joe."

This comes just weeks after comedian Seann Walsh and his dance partner Katya Jones were spotted kissing on a 'drunken' night out, prompting them to issue public apologies insisting it was a one-off mistake.

However, Seann found himself publicly dumped by his now ex-girlfriend, Rebecca Humphries, who released a statement on Twitter after Seann failed to mention her in his apology.

"This whole business has served to remind me that I am a strong, capable person who is now free, and no victim," she wrote.

"I have a voice and will use it by saying this to any woman out there who deep down feels worthless and trapped by a man they love."
