Sam Faiers just revealed when The Mummy Diaries fans can expect the series back on their screens.

The reality star announced on her Twitter page that filming for the sixth season has started yesterday (Thursday, 9th May), and also revealed it will air in Autumn.

The popular reality show will soon be in its sixth season and recently aired a wedding special, which saw Billie Faiers tie the knot with baby daddy Greg Shepherd in a luxury wedding in the Maldives.

Sisters Billie and Sam originally found fame on The Only Way Is Essex before launching the spin-off show, also on ITVBe, which features their ever-growing families and life now that they are parents.

Fans were delighted by the news of an air date, rushing to share their excitement in their replies.

"That's great news, watched it from the start and love it. Genuine girls, lovely families and the children are gorgeous, Nelly is just hilarious. Roll on the Autumn!!" declared one.

Echoing the above excitement, another tweeted: "My fav programme good luck to you all!"

While a third posted: "Best news all year."

"Yay can't wait. I hate having to wait cos it feels weirdly like I'm missing my friends. Like you've moved away and you come back for holidays," shared a final.

Fans can also reportedly expect the show to be on screens for at least another two years. According to a source, the show has been recommissioned until 2021 in a huge deal for the two reality star sisters.

"ITV have recommissioned The Mummy Diaries until at least 2021 in a mega bucks deal for the girls," an insider told Mail Online last month.

Needless to say, we cannot wait for The Mummy Diaries to return.
