Rylan's Open Letter To His Mum Is The Most Beautiful Thing You'll Read All Day
Viewers loved the mother-son duo when they appeared on Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox in June.
And now Rylan Clark-Neal has fans both giggling and welling up after he penned a heartfelt letter to his mum Linda, 67, in which he branded her the "ultimate cross between the nan from Catherine Tate and Pam from Gavin & Stacey."
Although the 30-year-old initially refers to her as his "biggest f** headache" and a "liability", the This Morning presenter admits he doesn't know what he'd do without her.
He penned: "Mum has suffered quite a lot with her health, so she's a bit of a home bird. Being sociable for her is sitting in the Marks & Spencer cafe and having a cheese toastie. I include my mum in my life as much as I can, and since we filmed Celebrity Gogglebox together, she's loving life.
"She felt comfortable doing it because it was at my house and she does my radio show because I can just call her at home."
Reflecting on his childhood, he admits that he found it difficult to open up to her but knows she'll always support him.
He added: "I didn't always like opening up to her about things. Not because she wouldn't hear it - that was my struggle. She's not the best at advice, but you can tell her anything. I've never spoken to her about my relationships and sexuality, but she wouldn't have a problem with it."
Adding to the hilarity, Rylan joked that the single-mum is unable to use Sky, refuses to drive to his house 25-minutes away for fear of fog and adds she's not the best cook.
But it's clear to read that he's mad about his mother, who has an absolute heart of gold and keeps his feet firmly on the ground.
Fans took to Twitter to comment on his heartwarming piece and shared their hope for them to return to Gogglebox full-time.
One penned: "@Rylan very thoughtful article in the @TheSTStyle magazine this Sunday. Loved learning more about him and his mum, seems like a very grounded person."
"@Rylan absolute legend! Not surprising tho after watching his mum on google box! Them two should have their own show x" another shared.
A third added: "@Rylan Just read your article in the Times Style magazine. Your relationship with your Mum is fabulous and so are both of you. Lovely lovely people! Lots of love to you and the wonderful Linda."
While a fan commented on his mum's interesting pasta dish, which has crushed crisp on top: "Has @Rylan's mum inadvertently discovered the best sounding hangover cure in history? #crushedwalkerscrispsonpasta #doublecarbing".
