While Kensington Palace has attempted to quash the idea there's a royal feud between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, the rumours live on, and fans are convinced that Kate just made a dig at her sister-in-law on Instagram.

Kensington Royal, aka the Instagram account for Kate and her hubby Prince William, uploaded a sweet snap to mark Queen Elizabeth's 93rd birthday, but there's one person missing from the family photo.

The picture uploaded in celebration of Queenie's birthday is missing the Duchess of Sussex, and some fans were quick to assume it must be a subtle dig from the Duchess of Cambridge.

However, it's worth noting that the picture is taken from the Trooping the Colour celebrations in 2016, before Meghan became a part of the royal family.

"Wishing a very happy 93rd birthday to Her Majesty The Queen," the caption reads. But, instead of wishing a happy old birthday to our Queenie in the comments section, people seemed to be more fixated on questioning why Meghan doesn't feature in the birthday post.

One Instagram user suggested the picture was "adding fuel to the fire," while others described it as a "passive aggressive" move from the palace.

Another Instagram user wrote: "Not a good display of brotherly love in excluding Prince Harry's wife Megan. Sends the wrong message to the world from the King one day to be. HRH Prince William you should take the lead. Show your future subjects the world over what a thoughtful man and leader your are. Forever Forward, Never Backwards.

"Choose Wisely otherwise you will cause and continue a broken chain of Windsors that will engulf your younger generations for eternity. You HRH should stand Heads above this. Be a future King of high personal morals and values. A sincere apology is warranted to your loving brother Prince Harry and his wife Megan."

The description for the coveted Instagram account reads: "The official account of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, based at Kensington Palace," and now Meghan and Prince Harry have joined the world of Instagram, too.

We doubt the royals are about to start engaging in Insta-wars any time soon.
