Miley Cyrus has broken her silence for the first time since announcing her split from Liam Hemsworth after just eight months of marriage.
The 26-year-old singer took to Instagram to share several photos from her girls' trip to Lake Como, Italy as she teased: "Life's a climb... but the view is great."
In another post, Miley wrote: "Don't fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable.
"The Dolomites [mountain range] were not created overnight, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed."
She added: "My dad always told me 'Nature never hurries but it is always on time'.... it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own" (sic).
In another shot of her posing among the scenic ski resort, Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Mother's Daughter singer shared: "Life's a climb... but the view is great".
Miley and Liam confirmed their split over the weekend, just two months after they celebrated their 10-year relationship anniversary.
A rep for Miley and Liam said in a statement: "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.
"Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."
The on/off couple said 'I do' in a secret ceremony in December but have split less than a year after their nuptials with sources close to them claiming the split wasn't surprising due to "fundamental issues" in their relationship.
They met while filming The Last Song in 2009 and got engaged in 2012, but later split in 2013.
Yet, they rekindled their romance three years later, with Miley being spotted with her engagement ring back on in 2016.
The couple were affected by the Woolsey wildfires in California last year, which saw their Malibu home burned to the ground.
Since the news broke of their split, Miley has been holidaying in Lake Como with her sister Brandi and Brody Jenner's ex Kaitlynn Carter, who she was photographed kissing over the weekend.
The Hills star Brody spoke out on Instagram after seeing the photos of Miley and Kaitlynn together and shared a snap of himself in Malibu, captioning it: "Don't let yesterday take up too much of today."
The reality star then responded to a comment about the "scandal" surrounding Miley and his ex, writing: "Watch out. Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon."
However, the dig didn't go unnoticed by Miley, who fired back at Brody and commented: "Go take a nap in your truck and cool off."
