Michelle McManus has described the first time she met fellow Pop Idol winner Will Young as a 'shattering experience'.

The 36-year-old said she was 'in utter awe' of the 'Evergreen' singer, but when they came face-to-face he 'completely ignored' her. How rude!

She added that she was really excited to meet him as she'd voted for him to win the ITV competition and she was a fan of his music.

Writing in a column in her local paper in Glasgow, the Evening Times, she said:

Sadly that's where the compliments from me to Will stop as I had the terrible misfortune to meet him once or twice immediately after I'd won the second series of Pop Idol.

As you can imagine, I was in utter awe of the man. He'd already won the show and had a string of hits. Let's face it, he was the only other person I knew or had met at that time who could possibly understand exactly what this wee 23-year-old girl from Baillieston was going through.

According to Michelle, he 'totally looked through her' and she was left gutted.

She added:

I tried to say a polite hello and he just completely ignored me, I mean totally looked through me and walked away when I tried to speak to him.
Not cool, Will. Yo' mama not teach you no manners? Huh?
