Back in August, fans unearthed some pretty damning evidence that Chris Hughes and girlfriend Olivia Attwood knew each other prior to appearing on Love Island.

Fans unearthed photos that show Olivia and Chris hanging out with the same person on separate occasions, way before their stint on the show which saw them win third place.

Back in 2016, Liv can be seen pouting in a photo with George Ray on his Instagram account, and had even commented on the photo too.

However, in August this year, Chris posted a picture claiming that the same person was his lifelong friend. What's going on here?

The snap was captioned: "So good to catch up with my life-longs, been way too long! Miss you both! #powerfulpeople @georgeray5@georgycoops."

Well now Chris has FINALLY spoken out about the claims.

Speaking to Heatworld, he said: "That caption was rubbish, I only met the guy the other day. I just pretended we were life-long friends.

"They were like 'write a caption that sounds really good, like we're buddies' to pretend they were my friends".

Hmm... that sounds feasible I guess.

Either way, Chris and Liv are still very much solid. In fact, he also told the website that he's actually moved into Liv's flat. He explained: "I'm living there every night so I'm there full-time now."

I can't write about Love Island without dropping in the best vid of all time though, can I?
