Lily Allen Blasted After Joking That 'Football Should Be Banned' For Kids
Lily Allen never shies away from telling people what she thinks, and she has been known to have a few controversial opinions.
Well, the singer is now facing backlash for tweeting that football should be banned for kids... weird.
Mum-of-two Lily caused an uproar on her Twitter when she suggested that banning football would help reduce sexual abuse among children...
The 32-year-old posted a link to a Guardian article how there are still so many sexual assault stories in football to be told, one year after Andy Woodward bravely told this story, along with a tweet that said: "To be honest I think it's time we talked about banning sports in this country. It's clearly putting our young men and boys at risk of abuse. #banfootball"
The comment was in response to a tweet that said: "I'm quite tired of people who think rape or sexual assault is just this special evil problem that only Muslim blokes do to us poor Westerners, when it's a problem in pretty much every society thanks to toxic masculinity."

Unfortunately, not everyone understood Lily's sarcasm and the point she was trying to make as one twitter user responded, saying: "That's like saying we should ban TV because of Jimmy Saville." Er, yeah I think that's the point she's trying to make.
