Katie Piper is recovering in hospital in Pakistan after undergoing surgery with her long-term surgeon.

The presenter flew out to the middle Eastern country to undergo treatment from Dr Muhammad Ali Jawed who led her pioneering surgery and has been working with her for more than a decade.

Katie has had more than 200 operations since sulphuric acid was thrown in her in an attack arranged by her ex boyfriend in 2008.

Joined by her devoted husband Richard Sutton, Katie is now recovering from yet another surgery as she explains to her followers why she's been missing from social media.

"Hi guys," she said in and Instagram story. "I'm currently in hospital in Pakistan in Mr Jawad's clinic hence why I've been quiet on the story but I'm recovering now."

"It's great to read your feedback and response. Sorry I can't reply to everybody individually but it's really good to hear your feedback."

She even showed off her hospital room and her surgical stockings, telling fans: "First day in my clothes. Gotta keep these stockings on!"
