Justin Bieber Posted A Hurtful And Inappropriate April Fool's And Fans Are Upset

"Do you know there are women out there who listen to your music who have lost babies?”

Justin Bieber sent fans into a frenzy last night when he posted a picture of an ultrasound scan. Because obviously it was April Fool's Day, people presumed he was kidding - so fans were overjoyed when he followed it up with a picture his wife Haily on a hospital bed being tended to by a nurse.

But, just when we thought we'd discovered the best piece of entertainment news of the year so far, Justin uploaded another ultrasound scan, but this time with an image of a dog in the middle, telling fans "wait, omg. Is that... an April Fool's?" Har har, Justin. You got us all with your cruel and incredibly inappropriate prank.

But the truth is, Justin's seemingly innocent "joke" upset a lot of people, including his wife, who commented (in an assumingly sarcastic tone) "very funny." Hmm, not really.

One follower hit the nail on the head, commenting: "You're literally such a loser for doing this. I hope you and your wife never have to experience what infertility or the loss of a pregnancy feels like because I guarantee this would no longer be 'funny' to you."

Another added: "I hope you never have to feel the heartbreak that comes with sitting on the bathroom floor staring at a negative pregnancy test over and over again."

"Do you know there are women out there who listen to your music who have lost babies?" a third asked. "Who are struggling to get pregnant? Who cry every damn time they see a pregnancy announcement that isn't their own because the only thing they want more in the world is to be a mother? Yet here you are, pretending it's all a joke."

This thought was echoed by Liz Wilkes, managing director of My Midwives, as she explained how pregnancy April Fool's gags can be a painful reminder for women who are experiencing fertility issues.

"Women can be quite fragile around the issue of pregnancy and something like a joke pregnancy announcement can end up being a painful reminder of something they are struggling with," she told Femail.

"Women who are experiencing fertility issues, have had a miscarriage or have had to terminate a pregnancy may have had to keep this to themselves will be feeling emotional.

"To see something like [a joke announcement] on Instagram of Facebook is really disrespectful."

Pregnancy, along with infertility and miscarriage, is no joke.
