The singer explained that the upsetting death has made her want to 'be more present' and 'spend more time with the people in her life'.

On the 30th December Jessie posted a heartfelt tribute to her bodyguard Dave along with a series of the pair together.

The 30-year-old described Dave as 'her rock' and shared a lengthy list of her fondest memories with her bodyguard of four years.

Last night, just four days after posting the emotional tribute Jessie announced she would not be updating her social media pages.

Jessie wrote: "Spending more real time with people I love and some time with myself. When sadness hits it's important we embrace it so it doesn't define us and it's for sure surfaced some and emotions and things I need to work on with all my attention and love.

"I have to practice on myself what I talk about on stage and in my music too- in a good way.

"So I am taking a solid break from all social media for a while. Not forever, but a while."

Jessie added: "Want to live in the moment as much as I can and not through my phone. I love you all. Happy new year. The year of living the best life for you!"

One wrote: "Heal well Jessie. We understand you only live once and you have to look after yourself mentally as well as physically in order to maintain stability and strength. God bless. See you on the other side"

Another added: "Take the time you need. We'll still be here. Much love."

Jessie also opened up to fans last year when she revealed on stage that she couldn't have children.

While performing on stage at London's Royal Albert Hall Jessie explained she had been told by doctors she could never conceive naturally.

Speaking to the crowd, the popstar explained: "I was told four years ago that I can't ever have children.

"I don't tell you guys for sympathy because I'm one of millions of women and men that have gone through this and will go through this."
