Ed Sheeran has reportedly been asked to perform at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding.

A source told ET that the singer has been approached with the hope that he'll play a few songs at the reception.

Victoria Arbiter, ET's Royal Correspondent, said: "Ed Sheeran has yet to confirm but I'm not sure you turn down Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,

"People love his romantic love songs so he's an ideal candidate for that first dance and I think Harry has always enjoyed Ed Sheeran."

She continued: "This is where everyone's really going to get down, this is for close friends and family,

"It's going to be hosted by Prince Charles and so I think if Ed Sheeran is going to be performing at any of them, it's going to be [the evening reception]."

Ed has previously mentioned whether or not he'd perform at their wedding.

Speaking to KIIS-FM's iHeartRadio back in December, he said that he'd be happy to perform "if he was free".

He continued: "I get asked this all the time like I know the royal family. I've met Harry once!

"That was in 2011 at his grans' Jubilee, and it was like, 'Hey.' 'Hey'... I barely know him!"

Fair play to him, he's gone from playing in pubs and clubs to potentially turning down a gig at the biggest event in 2018.
