Since Adele shot to fame in 2008, she has always been notoriously secretive, rarely talking about her personal life in the public eye. The mega star has never shown the world photos of her son, Angelo, choosing instead to protect him from scrutiny.

However, the singer has broken her own rules by posting a meme to Instagram, which seems to break her silence regarding her widely-reported divorce from husband of three years, Simon Konecki.

A rep for Adele confirmed their separation in a statement last week, saying: "Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly.

"As always, they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment."

Despite her rep's statement, Adele seems ready to speak out, posting a meme to Instagram.

One image shows Adele crying during her 2016 Brit Award acceptance speech, and another of her considerably more happy during Carpool Karaoke.

The caption of the meme reads: "When you catch yourself in your feelings then you remember who you are" and is followed by, naturally, no further comment from the singer.

Now, it's not confirmed that the meme does refer to her split, but what else could it be, really?

E! recently reported that the reason for the couple's split was Adele's work schedule, with a source saying "they had a lot in common early on, but eventually they just grew apart."

"She became a bigger and bigger star, and he was okay [with] being in the background, but as she got bigger and had massive tours and intense schedules, they just grew apart," the insider added.

"Their marriage was clearly working for a very long time. Whenever she was out at big openings and special events, he was usually with her, and they looked really just happy together and in love."

Adele and Simon are keeping their split amicable because of their son, with the insider saying "it's highly unlikely this is going to get ugly".

The singer was married to Konecki, a 45-year-old entrepreneur/philanthropist, for three years (but they had been together for seven) and their split was confirmed on 19th April. T

Her most recent post was followed with tons of support from Adele's almost 32 million followers expressing their love.
