Remember a while back when Tina Fey announced the news that Mean Girls was being made into an actual Broadway musical and we all lost our minds?

You know, this announcement right here...

Well, prepare to relive that whole experience, because the official teaser trailer has just dropped, and it looks more sensational than a night on the town with the Mathletes.

It's probably one of the funniest things we've seen all week, and if we're honest, we think the Plastics could be even snakier in this than we ever thought possible. Now that's an achievement.

The video starts with Regina George, who is being played by Taylor Louderman, hinting she has some exciting news to share.

Viewers are then personally invited by the Plastics to watch the musical, before being given an insight of what's to come, including some singing, dancing and funny one-liners.

When we first heard about the musical we were slightly apprehensive about the prospect of one of our all-time favourite films being made into anything else, but having seen this, we're just about convinced.

The film may have been released way back in 2004, but the Broadway production will be set in 2017, meaning the girls have access to social media accounts including Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram. We can only imagine how the Burn Book will materialise in tech form, but whatever happens, we're sure Ms. Norbury won't be too happy about it.

The first dry run of the show will take place in Washington this October, before heading to New York in spring 2018.

Unfortunately it's not yet clear whether the show will be making its way to the UK, but we have all of our fingers, toes and fake eyelashes crossed for it to happen.

If not we'll all feel personally victimised, and nobody wants that now, do they?
