This New Trick Can Apparently Make You Fall Asleep In Minutes
There's nothing more frustrating on this planet than being exhausted but just not being able to sleep. When we do eventually nod of, getting a solid eight hours sleep is almost impossible for a lot of people, with the likes of mobile phones and the stresses of modern day life.
Now, scientists say that pink noise could be exactly what insomniacs need to get a good few hours of kip.
Pink noise is basically a type of background noise that has an equal level of energy per octave, meaning it has a lower frequency than white noise.
According to a study in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience pink noise is less intrusive than white noise and could lead to a better, deeper sleep. They even reckon that if used continuously, it could improve your memory too.
The study tested people listening to pink noise as they slept, and found that those participants reported feeling a lot more rested.
The pink noise participants also performed three times better in memory tests and cognition tests compared to those who just slept normally.
Now that has got to be worth a try!
