A bride has gone viral after getting dresses complete with pockets for herself and her bridesmaids for her big day.

One member of the bride squad, composed of the Eve Paterson and her six closest friends, shared a snap of them all in a power pose in the church on Twitter, and it quickly raked in the likes and shares.

Eve had the dresses specifically designed with pockets, and she explained: "Women are both pretty and practical, so why aren't our clothes?"

It seems like they came in useful too, as bridesmaid Nell Goddard declared: "Yes, we did use them for storing snacks, thank you for asking," as she shared the photo to her followers on social media.

They also used the pockets to store the wedding schedule as well as the seating plan for the nuptials, so it seems like they came in pretty handy.

The 'power pose' bridal photo has been retweeted over 2,000 times and has over 13,000 likes (at the time of writing).

Each bridesmaid had a different style of dress to suit their own beautiful shape and size, chosen from KF Bridal, with pockets being added in for a small extra charge.

The bride wore a dress from David's Bridal as she loved the fact that the gown already came with pockets.

"My bridesmaids are all beautifully different shapes, so we decided to go with a brand where they could each pick a dress that they felt amazing in, and where we could add pockets as well," Eve told The Independent.

She added: "You'd never expect to hire suits for guys and then 'add pockets' as an extra, so the idea that women have to do it is insane."

The pocket in Eve's dress had an even more special meaning, as they had a bit of fabric sew into them.

As the bride points out, the response to the picture has been huge meaning there is a demand for pockets in women's garments.

She added: "Women's clothing simply doesn't empower women as much as it should.

"Pockets are such a tiny issue in comparison to the oppression of women globally, but I think it plays into a much deeper misconception that women should look good rather than be practically equipped - but why should we have to choose?"
