A photographer captured on camera a monkey and its baby recreating a famous Lion King scene in the wild.

In the image, a monkey can be seen holding its baby up in the air just like Rafiki does with Simba in the beloved Disney movie to 'The Circle Of Life'.

Dafna Ben Nun, 38, captured the incredible real life Disney moment while on a trip to Zimbabwe, and the scene is adorable.

During her trip to the Southern African country to learn about the local wildlife, Dafna couldn't believe her eyes as she saw the two monkeys recreating such a well-known moment.

Baboons are native to South Africa, and they are often found in the open savannah and the open hills around the continent.

Dafna, from Israel, said: "I couldn't believe it when I saw an adult baboon holding a baby, looking exactly like Simba in The Lion King.

"It was just a split second, but it was fascinating to watch!"

She added: "They were all in the same group so no harm was done to any of the animals."

In the Disney movie, Rafiki holds up Simba over the edge of the cliff to introduce him to the rest of the animal kingdom.

It is unclear why the monkey was holding up the baby in this snap but 'The Circle Of Life' probably wasn't blasting in the background.

Fans of The Lion King will be pleased to hear that the live action Disney adaptation will be hitting cinema screens soon. It's set to star Beyoncé as little lion cub Nala, and Donald Glover will be voicing Simba.

Seth Rogen is the voice behind Pumbaa the warthog and Billy Eichner will be Timon the meerkat for the remake.
